The Justice System Has Found You Guilty! Philip S. Bertelsen, North Minneapolis Lives Matter. Melvin And Brandy Mattered!

Guest Author Blog Post by Jordan North

A Golden Valley man was driving drunk at over 100 miles per hour the night he smashed into and killed a young couple in Minneapolis. Allegedly, he said he has no memory of it. Allegedly, he also seems to have no memory of the don't drink and drive campaign. Allegedly he has forgotten, Thou shalt not kill...

Melvin Jones and Brandy Banks-Sutta were stopped at a light at Morgan Avenue North and Olson Memorial Highway on Nov. 3, 2013 when they were hit from behind and instantly killed.

55-year-old Philip Scott Bertelsen of Golden Valley appeared in Hennepin County Court a couple days ago and was told what we all know by the Honorable Judge Laurie Miller, GUILTY.

Laurie Miller was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty as a Hennepin County District Court Judge in 2008 and as far as I can tell that was a GREAT appointment. I have written several posts about Melvin and Brandy and each post has a new Judge that I'm asking you to email or write. This is the final chapter, the final request. The sentencing will be on October 6th.

It's imperative that we write the Judge when he is looking at 2-48 months!  4thJudgeMillerChambers@courts.state.mn.us

Allegedly just prior to jury selection Phillip Bertelsen decided to forgo a trial and let the Judge decide his fate. Based on the facts that I've been told there isn't a sane person that would have found him not guilty. There are no winners in this sad story. There are only lives torn apart, lost and destroyed...

I believe that the only real justice and healing comes from God.

There are very few residents of North Minneapolis who haven't, at some point, sat at that very intersection waiting for the light to change. This could have been any one of us.
